Food First Foundation, NWT is a volunteer Council that includes professionals from Nutrition, Health and Education areas as well as representatives from First Nations, students, teachers and members of Parent Advisory Committees. We have one paid part-time employee. Food First Foundation, NWT is the NWT arm of BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING, Canadian Living Foundation (BFL), a national non-profit organization that was formed in 1991. The BFL National office raises funds to distribute across the country in the form of Nutrition Grants. NWT school meal programs are primarily funded through these grants. BFL also allocates a separate grant to each province and territory to be used for administration and Council activities. Through our partnership with the National office and Councils across the country, we also share nutrition information, research data and educational resources. Read more About Food First.
